Well...I agree about Melton's defense being better than Moody but we have to see where Melton's offense ends up after more reps vs Moody's. As for Wiggs, so far I haven't seen any difference from the Wiggs of last years so also let's see where his offense AND his defense are after more reps. Sure his defense and rebounding also were the key to the ring over Boston, but we have not seen that Wiggs since then...at all. And to be fair, he was better in those playoffs and specifically in the Boston series than he was even during the regular season of that last championship year. So the raps on Wiggs that has become a cliche is that he is not aggressive enough on a consistent basis, and that's not aggressive enough on offense, on defense and rebounding. We have not seen peak Wiggs in either of those 3 areas for quite a while and it is fair to wait and watch to see whether that ship has sailed for good. I would even say, trade him now while you can still get a big haul for him. I would bet we could get someone who would help he team more on a consistent basis in return for Wiggs. BUT...I hope to be proven wrong. I am really hoping that the new, smooth, streamlined haircut instead of the old nappy look is a harbinger of a new streamlined, more energetic and aggressive Wiggs and that he can capture lightning in a bottle again and make use an awesome juggernaut once more. I will be surprised if hat happens, but very pleasantly surprised. But just keep in mind, that if Wiggs fizzles again this year we will have lost the chance to trade him for a difference maker. If I were the GM I would be fielding offers.

excellent analysis of the moody situation. i think that valuing the incremental value of someone else's defense over moody's last year was a mistake, and i think it will be a mistake this year, as well. he's young, still capable of getting quicker shuffle speed, and capable of being a big scorer with confidence shown in him by kerr. ditto for jk and trace. let steph, moses, jk, day-day, and trace start and see where we are after 30 games. worst case would be middle of the pack, imo.
