With all the hype around Kuminga, I wouldn't be unhappy if we too him considering his considerable athleticism and upside. He could develop into an interesting force for the team. And, as you say, as an asset at #7, trades would definitely be on the table if the Dubs felt it would make the team better. But, we still need that scorer and hopefully, Moody, Sengun, Wagner, Kispert, Duarte, would still be available at #14. I'd be happy with that scenario.

I’m pleased by the fact Kuminga today said in his Orlando Magic media availability he’ll fly to Miami soon to meet with the Warriors. We have some other Draft board news coming too. I feel like we’re staying on top of the more relevant things!

Also depends who they get in free agency. For example if they don’t net the veterans, for whatever reason, then you’d do the “hindsight is 20/20” thing at that point and wonder why they didn’t package the 14th in to get one. But I do have faith in Myers and will end up rooting for whatever team is put on the floor instead of, say, just being outraged all the time by whatever roster moves lol.

Why can't they get the veteran plus the two picks. They have an MLE for a vet and of course there is hope for a player or two who would take the vet minimum.

I saw the Schmitz interview and footage. Kuminga would need a LOT of work on his shooting. Lots of clanking going on there. He needs to pass better and more often, but of course he's young and can learn. I don't see him helping us anytime soon, though. Maybe I'm just missing it but I'm not buying property on his island at this point.

I get that, but at the same time it’s kinda like this: at least Kuminga is so athletic that he can get a shot off no matter what, whereas even a proven shooter like Mulder wouldn’t be able to get a shot off against athletic NBA defense. Idk, I think we want to be careful on both sides of the spectrum: not falling in love with a Draftee, but also at the same time not poking so many holes that you forget a guy was consensus Top 5 since the end the G League Bubble.

The Draft is relative to other guys in the Draft (okay, and available free agents in less than a month) more so than the one-by-one “ceiling comps” like “Kawhi, Paul George, Giannis, Klay” who are basically the blueprints for all of these first-rounders. I’m just making a philosophical statement, mostly (as usual lol).
